Discover the hidden gems of the Causeway Coast
Welcome to the Causeway Coastal Route ALIVE web facility which has been designed specifically to provide you, with a LIVE DIGITAL VISITOR EXPERIENCE. The site has been funded through the Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust (CCGHT) and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and administered by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB).
The overall aim of the CCR ALIVE Digital Visitor Experience is to provide you with a comprehensive and innovative mobile and online visitor servicing solution with interactive content, news, events, digital trails and promotions relating to the three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) namely:
and the other key sites along the Causeway Coastal Route.
The CCRALIVE.com site is designed to provide visitors to the Causeway Coast with a unique “world class” experience before, during and after their personal journey to the region. The Causeway Coastal Route is Northern Ireland’s premier tourist route as well as being a “world class” strategic driving route with a World Heritage Site at the Giant’s Causeway.
The CCR ALIVE experience provides visitors with the opportunities to discover visitor sites and attractions incorporating natural, built and cultural heritage, within the CCR region before their visit, allowing time for preparation and planning. Whilst on your journey you can then access this and further up to date information both as a download on your mobile phone or in any of the free wi-fi access areas along the Route.
Visitors wanting to access additional information are encouraged to visit the linked sites such as www.causewaycoastandglens.com , www.discovernorthernireland.com , www.northcoastni.com.
The Causeway Coastal Route is overwhelmingly rich in content and interest and due to its very size, has associated with it so much to do, see and experience. The CCR ALIVE site will allow you to view and then plan your experience of the Causeway Coastal Route. You can do it in a range of ways either as a number of discrete day trips or as a coordinated 5 or 6 day experience from one end of the route to the other. Along the way you can download various aspects of the important locations onto your mobile phone and listen to the stories associated with each of the listed sites.
The three AONBs which constitute the Causeway Coastal Route are rich in flora, fauna, exhilarating views, exciting experiences and activities suitable for all ages. If you would like to learn more about the AONBs please visit the CCGHT website.
Visitors can start or end their journey along the CCR at any point taking in as much or as little as they please.
